Outage Information

Renville-Sibley Cooperative Power Association is working to provide safe and reliable electric service to all Co-op members throughout the year. We appreciate your help in making this goal possible. Reliability of service is foremost in our minds. We strive to provide 100 percent, uninterrupted service. However, with approximately 1,115 miles of distribution lines, and thousands of devices exposed to Minnesota weather, wildlife, trees, etc., that lofty goal is unattainable.

If Your Power Does Go Off

  • Check your fuses or circuit breakers, including those on the meter pole, to see if they have blown or tripped. (Members may be billed for a service call if the trouble is caused by the member’s own fuses or equipment.)
  • If the problem is not with your electric service, call a neighbor to see if other people are also out of power.
  • Leave a light on so you will know when the power has been restored.
  • Unplug sensitive electronic equipment such as TV’s and computers.

To report outages or other power quality problems, call toll-free 1-800-826-2593. When reporting a problem, give the name on your bill and your Service Location Number (as identified on your billing statement). If you call at a time other than the regular business hours, the phone is answered by the Cooperative Response Center (CRC). CRC will dispatch a crew to your location. All maintenance and repair crews work out of Danube. Remember! Never go near downed power lines. Treat every electrical line as if it were energized.
